April 14, 2009 Special Board Meeting
Minutes of the Special Town Board Meeting April 14, 2009
Chairman Sturgeon called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. Those attending were Chairman Sturgeon, Supervisor Osfar, Supervisor Misiak and Deputy Clerk Eifert
Supervisor Osfar made a motion to approve the agenda at the discretion of the Chairman. Supervisor Misiak seconded and the motion carried.
Chairman Sturgeon discussed the duties of the Town Board:
Chairman Sturgeon – Library Board liaison
Plan Committee
Town Crew
Monitor Turtle Dam
Roads
Supervisor Misiak - ES Board liaison
Recycling Center
Plan Committee
Supervisor Osfar - Winchester Town Lakes liaison
Park & Boat Landings
Monitor Turtle Dam
Chairman Sturgeon discussed the web site. Supervisor Osfar stated his wife, Dorla, would setup the web site for $150.00. She would keep it updated from her home for $10.00 per hour. Supervisor Misiak stated we need someone who will be dedicated to the website, otherwise it will not get updated.
Discussion was held regarding the agenda, when it is posted, how items are put on the agenda and who can put items on the agenda. The format of the Town Board Meeting and open session was discussed. Liability insurance and workshops were also discussed.
Chairman Sturgeon made a motion to go into closed session under SS19.85© considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance valuation of any public employee. Supervisor Misiak seconded and the motion carried. Those going into closed session were Chairman Sturgeon, Supervisor Misiak, Supervisor Osfar and Deputy Clerk Eifert.
Chairman Sturgeon made a motion to reconvene into open session. Supervisor Misiak seconded and the motion carried. In closed discussion was held regarding the Fire Chief.
Supervisor Osfar made a motion to adjourn. Supervisor Misiak seconded and the motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 10:30 AM.
