Minutes of the April 24, 2009 Special Town Board Meeting
Chairman Sturgeon called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. Those attending were Chairman Sturgeon, Supervisor Misiak and Supervisor Osfar.
Supervisor Misiak made a motion to approve the agenda at the discretion of the Chairman. Supervisor Osfar seconded and the motion carried.
Chairman Sturgeon stated the Town Board will go out and inspect the town roads in order to make future road plans. At 9:01 AM the Town Board went to inspect the town roads.
The Town Board returned from inspecting the town roads at 12:15 PM.
Discussion was held regarding maintaining the roads we already have versus repaving Keppler Road. Supervisor Misiak stated we should use the budgeted monies for the repair and maintenance for the roads we already have so we do not completely lose the roads. Chairman Sturgeon and Supervisor Osfar agreed with Supervisor Misiak. Supervisor Osfar suggested the Board review the Road Plan and establish something different. Supervisor Misiak made a motion that the Board creates a new Five Year Plan for road replacement, repair and maintenance. The Board will be bias towards repair and maintenance versus new roads. Supervisor Osfar seconded and the motion carried. Chairman Sturgeon volunteered to put the new plan together.
Supervisor Misiak made a motion to have a special meeting in May to review and finalize the new Five Year Road Plan. Supervisor Osfar seconded and the motion carried.
Chairman Sturgeon discussed the transmission problem on the brush truck. The truck was brought to Ped’s Auto Repair and the transmission was rebuilt. The charge for rebuilding the transmission was $1,636.50. Supervisor Osfar made a motion to authorize the town to fix the transmission on the brush truck and take the monies out of the appropriate account. Supervisor Misiak seconded and the motion carried.
The Board discussed the new library and the funding for it. Supervisor Osfar made a motion to allow Rob Schmidt, Jr. to work with the contractors and continue to be Chairman of the New Library Committee. Supervisor Misiak seconded and the motion carried. Supervisor Misiak made an addendum to the above motion stating to remind Rob Schmidt, Jr. and other citizens the Board’s intention is that the new library project should go forward with all enthusiasm as long as it is a private funded project. If it changes in scope, it will need to be brought back to the Town Board. Chairman Sturgeon seconded and the addendum to the motion carried.
Supervisor Osfar made a motion to adjourn. Supervisor Misiak seconded and the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 12:35 PM.
