Minutes of the June 2, 2010 Special Town Board Meeting
Chairman Sturgeon called the meeting to order at 9:30 AM. Those attending were Chairman Sturgeon, Supervisor Osfar, Supervisor Misiak and Clerk Allis. There were 12 people in the audience.
Supervisor Osfar made a motion to approve the agenda at the discretion of the Chairman. The Supervisors discussed scheduling special meetings and notification of the meetings. Supervisor Misiak seconded and the motion carried.
The Town Board agreed to have the Town Clerk supervise four volunteers, Darla Osfar, Carole Hochhalter, Judy Habermann and Carole Theesfeld, to sort and count the library survey letters this morning.
The Town Board will leave to go to Harris Creek Lane and Village Point Lane to meet with Jim White regarding the possibility of the town taking over maintenance on a portion of those lanes. The tape recorder is being turned off at 9:42 AM for the Board to meet Jim White.
The Town Board has returned at 10:55 AM after looking at the lanes mentioned above and meeting with Jim White. Supervisor Misiak stated the Board’s position continues to be that the Road Association has to improve the road before the town will take it over. The Road Association is preparing for their Annual Meeting so they can make a proposal to their membership. The Board has concerns about some trees that need to be removed and turn arounds for the snow plow. The Road Association asked the Board to investigate a potential variance to the 33’ easement on one side of the road on one property. Chairman Sturgeon will mark the trees that will need to be removed. The Board will wait for the Road Association’s decision.
The library survey letter results:
612 responses – original letter sent back to the town
39 letters returned – return to sender
14 faxed letters – not counted
6 letters with numbers cut off – not counted
Total “yes” letters – 188
Total “no” letters – 424
The Board will discuss this outcome at the June 7, 2010 Monthly Town Board Meeting. The letters will be kept at the Town Hall in case someone would like to view them.
Supervisor Misiak made a motion to adjourn. Supervisor Osfar seconded and the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 10:58 AM.
